Day 1: Phatueng Jungle Trekking – Beautiful Landscapes & Panoramic Views
Start your adventure with a hotel pickup at 8:00 AM. Travel about 1.5 hours north of Luang Prabang by private vehicle to the trekking starting point.
Your guide will provide drinking water, ensure everyone applies insect repellent, and explain the trekking route and safety tips.
Begin trekking through dense forests and mountain trails between Phatueng and Pha Nak (Naga Mountain). The hike covers around 7 km (5 hours), passing through lush jungle and offering breathtaking panoramic views.
Enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by pristine nature and the sounds of birds.
After lunch, continue hiking downhill for 2.5 hours to reach the Nam Ou River. Cross by longtail boat to Ban Hadkhor Village, a peaceful Lao Lue ethnic village, where you will enjoy local hospitality and an overnight homestay.
Day 2: Mokchong Trekking – Visit Khmu and Hmong Hill Tribe Villages
After breakfast, begin your second day of trekking at 8:00 AM from Ban Hadkhor Village.
Today you’ll explore four hill tribe villages belonging to the Khmu and Hmong ethnic groups, trekking around 18 km (6 hours) through rolling hills, farmlands, and scenic valleys.
You’ll learn about the traditional lifestyle, culture, and beliefs of these friendly communities.
Enjoy a picnic lunch along the trail with magnificent views, then continue trekking to a Khmu or Hmong village, where you’ll stay overnight in a local homestay.
Experience authentic village life, enjoy traditional food, and connect with your hosts for an unforgettable evening.
Day 3: Kayaking on Nam Ou River – Visit Pak Ou Caves & Whisky Village
After breakfast, walk 1.5 hours downhill to the main road, then transfer to the kayaking starting point on the Nam Ou River.
Your guide will give a safety briefing and kayaking instructions before you start paddling downstream.
Enjoy a relaxing kayak journey surrounded by limestone cliffs and lush riverbanks, then stop for lunch at a riverside restaurant near Pak Ou Caves.
After lunch, cross the Mekong River to visit the famous Pak Ou Caves — explore both the lower and upper caves, filled with thousands of Buddha images.
Your guide will share the spiritual history and legends behind these sacred caves.
Continue kayaking 1.5 hours downstream to Whisky Village (Ban Xang Hai), known for its traditional Lao rice whisky production. Visit local families, see how whisky is made, and taste a sample if you wish.
Finally, load the kayaks onto the vehicle and return to Luang Prabang, arriving by late afternoon.
Your guide and driver will drop you off at your hotel, marking the end of your unforgettable 3-day tour.
