| Day 2: Kayaking on the Nam Ou River to Visit Pak Ou Caves and Whisky Village |
After breakfast, the adventure begins at 8:00 AM from Ban Hadkhor Village. Before starting your kayaking journey, our experienced tour guide will provide a safety briefing, explain paddling techniques, and give you an overview of today’s itinerary.
You’ll then start kayaking down the Nam Ou River for about 2 hours toward the famous Pak Ou Caves. Along the way, enjoy the breathtaking scenery of limestone cliffs, lush jungle, and peaceful riverbanks — a truly unforgettable natural landscape.
Upon arrival, we’ll stop for lunch at a riverside restaurant near Pak Ou Caves. After lunch, cross the river to explore the Pak Ou Caves, which consist of two levels — the lower and upper caves. Inside, you’ll find thousands of Buddha images of different shapes and sizes. Your guide will share fascinating stories about the caves’ spiritual significance and centuries-old traditions.
After exploring the caves, continue kayaking down the Mekong River for about 1.5 hours to visit the Whisky Village (Ban Xang Hai), famous for its traditional Lao rice whisky production. Here, you can see how local people distill whisky using age-old techniques.
Finally, we’ll load the kayaks onto the vehicle and drive back to Luang Prabang town, where the tour ends at your hotel. Say goodbye to your friendly guide and driver — and take with you unforgettable memories of this two-day adventure.
