Your adventure begins at 8:30 AM — you can either start from our office or be picked up from your hotel. We’ll head to the bike shop, where you can choose your own bicycle, test it for comfort, and ensure that the gears and brakes are in good condition. Once ready, put on your helmet and begin your exciting cycling journey!
The ride starts with a short cycle down to the boat pier, where you’ll cross the Mekong River by ferry to the opposite side. After crossing, continue cycling to Ban Nakham Village, known for its traditional bamboo-cooked sticky rice. Here, you’ll see how locals prepare this unique Lao specialty.
Next, continue cycling along off-road trails for about 17 km, passing through Ban Som and Ban Na Villages, where you’ll enjoy the scenic countryside and stop for a local lunch.
After lunch, ride another 19 km along peaceful off-road paths, passing rice fields and rural landscapes until you reach Ban Chan Village, famous for its traditional pottery-making. Here, you can observe local artisans at work and learn about their craft.
Finally, cycle back to the Mekong River pier, cross the river again by ferry, and return to Luang Prabang city, finishing your trip at the bike shop.
By the end of the day, you’ll have cycled approximately 36 kilometers, explored authentic Lao villages, and experienced the local way of life — a perfect day of cycling, culture, and nature in Luang Prabang!
