Luang Prabang Trekking Adventure to Naga Mountain and Nam Ou River
Your unforgettable Luang Prabang trekking tour begins with a hotel pickup at 8:00 AM. You’ll travel by van for about 1.5 hours north of Luang Prabang city to reach the trekking starting point.
Before the adventure begins, your local tour guide will provide drinking water and remind you to apply mosquito repellent spray for comfort and safety. Then, get ready for an amazing 5-hour trek (approximately 7.5 km) through lush forest trails and scenic mountain paths.
The adventure takes you uphill and downhill between Pha Thaung and Pha Nark (Naga Mountain) — an area covered by pristine jungle and filled with the sounds of nature and wild birds. After about 2.5 hours of hiking, you’ll stop for a lunch break at a panoramic viewpoint, where you can relax and enjoy breathtaking mountain views.
Once lunch is finished, continue downhill towards the Nam Ou River, trekking for another 2.5 hours until you reach the riverbank — the endpoint of the hike. From there, cross the Nam Ou River by longtail boat to reach Hadkhor Tai Lue Village, a traditional Lao community known for its unique culture.
Finally, your driver will take you back to Luang Prabang by van, and the tour concludes at your hotel in the late afternoon.
